Dublin Bus

The Background

Dublin Bus knew that as The European Accessibility Act (EAA) got closer they would need to be digitally accessible. The accessibility of public transport is required under the act, so Dublin bus were eager to become compliant.

They didn’t just want to be accessible to meet legal requirements though, as Dublin Bus strives to provide a high-quality service to all their users. This includes those with disabilities, and the team knew being accessible would play a big part in improving the experience for disabled people..
They had already implemented many great initiatives such as the JAM Card, ISL interpretation, induction loops for hearing aid users at their ticket stations, and much much more. The next step was to make sure digital experiences like the website and app were accessible.

What We Did

Vially worked extensively with the team at Dublin Bus to ensure the digital accessibility of their website, documents and App.
We did extensive accessibility testing using screen readers like Jaws and NVDA, and did mobile testing for their app using Voiceover.
We tested over 100 documents for the company and helped make them digitally accessible, which really shows true commitment to accessibility from Dublin Bus.

Dublin Bus also understood that accessibility needs to be checked on a continuous basis, so we continue to make sure that their accessibility statements are up to date and compliant with all the latest legislation and guidelines.
